TEXAS MEETS FLORIDA
Jordi Baizan is a first generation American and native Texan songwriter. His songwriting has garnered him recognition from several prestigious songwriting competitions including the Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Competition, the Songwriter Serenade Competition, and the South Florida Folk Festival’s Singer/Songwriter Competition. . Recently signed by Berkalin Records, label owner Brian J. Kalinec says “Jordi’s songs convey authenticity perfectly intertwined with memorable melodies. His unique voice and his stories draw you in from the beginning, and you can’t wait to hear the next page.” Walt Wilkins, the producer of “Free and Fine”, Baizan’s new record (June 2019), says “This is a beautiful record, full of grown-up but still joyous & hopeful songs by a true artist & deep soul.”
Grant Livingston has been a Florida favorite since the mid-1980s. The Broward-Palm Beach New Times recently named Grant one of the “Ten Greatest South Florida Folksingers of All Time” and has called him “a cross between Jimmy Buffett and Sesame Street.” Grant appears throughout Florida at theaters, state parks, folk festivals, restaurants, coffeehouses and schools, as well as private, civic and corporate gatherings. Grant was the Artist in Residence at Everglades National Park (AIRIE) in October 2019, and appeared at Yosemite National Park with National Park Ranger Gary Bremen in July 2019. Named “Best Acoustic Performer” by the Miami New Times, Florida Living Magazine says, “Grant embodies the very spirit that created Florida”, “Magical – his words really lighten the soul,” says the Miami Herald, and Boca Raton Magazine calls him “Florida’s institutional memory.”
