Texas meets Florida when Singer-Songwriters Jordi Baizan and Grant Livingston finally make their post-pandemic appearance together at the Luna Star.   This show was originally scheduled March 2020!

Jordi Baizan is a first generation American and native Texan songwriter.  He has played hundreds of shows in the US, Canada, and Europe and released his sixth record in February of 2022.  His songwriting, which American Songwriter (USA) has called “exquisite”,  has garnered him recognition from several prestigious songwriting competitions including the Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Competition, the Songwriter Serenade Competition, and the South Florida Folk Festival’s Singer/Songwriter Competition.

Signed in 2019 by Berkalin Records, label owner Brian J. Kalinec says  “Jordi’s songs convey authenticity perfectly intertwined with memorable melodies.   His unique voice and his stories draw you in from the beginning, and you can’t wait to hear the next page.”  Jordi’s 2019 album, Free and Fine, inspired Lonestar Time (Italy) to welcome Jordi “into the great family of true troubadours”.  His latest album, The Love in You (2022), has been described as “healing music reminiscent of the 1970s and fantastic storytellers like Jackson Browne and JD Souther” (Baretta, Sweden).

Grant Livingston has long been a Florida favorite for his original songs about armadillos, barnacles, Melaleuca trees, pythons, and how to tell the difference between an alligator and a crocodile..  The Broward-Palm Beach New Times named Grant one of the “Ten Greatest South Florida Folksingers of All Time” and has called him “a cross between Jimmy Buffett and Sesame Street.”.
Grant will be a featured performer at the 2023 Florida Folk Festival at White Springs Memorial Day weekend, his thirty-fifth appearance at the festival.  He was the Artist in Residence at Everglades National Park (AIRIE) in 2019, and appears nationwide with Ranger Gary Bremen as half of “Songs and Stories of Our National Parks”.  Grant has taught Songwriting at Miami-Dade College and co-hosts the Nashville Songwriters workshop right here at the Luna Star.
He has four CDs of original songs – One Everglades, Florida Rain, Let Me Off The Leash, and The One That Got Away.  He has more copies of these than he actually needs himself, so he encourages you to take some home with you.
