For Seth, the obsession started under the Christmas tree in third grade with a first guitar and a few basic chords. Like many of his generation, he was first captivated by the electric energy of the British Invasion and the era-defining sounds of Woodstock. However, his musical evolution didn’t stop at rock and roll.

Searching for deeper melodic roots, and being a dancer himself, Seth found himself drawn to the elegance of the Swing Era. Immersing himself in the songbooks of Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, and Nat King Cole, he developed a sophisticated touch for the standards—a genre he continues to explore and perform extensively today.

But it was a chance encounter at a firehouse jam that shifted his trajectory toward the acoustic world. Captivated by the driving rhythms and intricate leads of bluegrass, he traded his strumming patterns for a flatpick, starting with the classic “Little Maggie.” Today, inspired by the soulful Americana of Norman Blake, Seth has transitioned from a strummer to a top-notch flatpicker, blending the precision of bluegrass with the timeless soul of the Great American Songbook. Seth continues to expertly perform from multiple genres to this day, and is a regular at South Florida Bluegrass events.
