Deni Bonet Bio
Deni Bonet is a singer/songwriter, electric violinist, and multi-instrumentalist playing quirky, melodic and fun folk-rock. She has performed and recorded with Cyndi Lauper, R.E.M., Sarah McLachlan and many others. Her previous appearances include four sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall, The Great Wall of China, the United Nations, and the White House for President Obama and then-Vice President Biden. She has recently been a soloist with the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, the Symphonic Pops of Long Island, and the Danbury Community Orchestra. For the past several years, Bonet has been touring in the U.S. and Europe. She was awarded a grant in 2019 through the Arts Envoy Program of the U.S. Government to spend a month’s residency in Africa teaching violin, songwriting, and rock ’n roll at a music college in Zanzibar. She also performed concerts for the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Bonet has released several CDs of her own music, including the critically-acclaimed “Bright Shiny Objects” on Sony/RED. During the Pandemic, Bonet performed over 50 virtual concerts for various public libraries and service organizations. She is currently putting the finishing touches on a new new album that will be released early next year.
“Engaging, multi-talented violinist Deni Bonet. Unlike most violinists, she is not nailed to the floor. And she doesn’t shy away from going head-to-head with the guitar player, having fun and breaking an erstwhile-stodgy image of the grand old instrument.” ~ Forbes Magazine
“Deni Bonet’s dynamic, high energy stage presence paired with engaging audience banter delighted patrons of all ages, from 2 to 92. Already looking forward to her encore performance in 2022.”
~ Laura Migliore, Programming Coordinator, Monmouth County Library HQ, Manalapan, NJ
“Deni Bonet has the informal, friendly, storytelling nature of a folksinger and the exciting looks and edgy musicality of a rock star.  Her happy, party-ready songs are refreshingly punchy.  And while she loves to have fun on stage, there are places in her show where she digs down deep and comes out with breathtaking violin solos worthy of the finest classical concert halls.”
~ Sarah Craig, Executive Director, Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs
