ALEX DIAZ
After first hearing Eddie Van Halen shred on the guitar, Alex Diaz knew he had to learn this, one way or another. His first instructor, teaching songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Aura Lee out of a Mel Bay book, almost left him hopeless.

Fortunately, his father found him an instructor that began to teach him what he wanted to learn– rock and roll; this made all the difference. Alex’s love and dedication to music only grew greater every passing year.

Drawing from influences like ACDC and Motley Crue he formed the original band, “Dirt Cheap ” in the 90s.They played all throughout South Florida, ventured to New York and produced three albums: a self titled EP “Dirt Cheap “, ” Get Out Of My Way ” , and ” 104 “.

He has also played with musical greats such as RATT , Rick Derringer and Marilyn Manson. In addition, his music has been featured on the Discovery Channel and ESPN X Games. .

Looking to hone his craft and make music his life’s work, Alex studied Music Education at Florida International University where he focused on the classical guitar, playing works by Franciso Tarrega, Enrique Villalobos, Sor, and Bach. He received this degree in 1997.

He formed and fronted the Spanish rock band, “La Nota Negra”. Later in the early 2000s, he joined “The Bushmen”, the only coverband to play at The Super Bowl held in Miami in 2009. He has played with Jackie Arredondo and currently plays with South Florida’s top cover band “PUSH “, where you can find him happily shredding away on his guitar.

Although Alex has spent the first half of his career playing Rock and Roll, he always had a love for Elvis and Johnny Cash. That real, authentic, raw sound, that touches everyone. This has led him to record his current album “Dirt Road Lullabies.”
