Arthur Gregory Cruz w/ Special Guest Jamie Granger
Singer/Songwriter/Piano Man Arthur Gregory Cruz writes and performs his own original songs – melodic tunes with pensive lyrics that blend pop, rock and jazz influences from The Great International Songbook, Classic Rock and Alternative Americana.
A hopeful romantic, with a distinctive voice and style of song, Arthur sings of longing to “Be Your Valentine” believing in “Fairy Tales Of Love” and holding on to each other through the dark night of the soul when asking “Where Are You Now?”

Velvet Sun is an ongoing project by singer/guitarist/drummer Scott Weinkle. The songs are a hybrid of crunch guitars, pop hooks, sonic distortion and celestial atmospheres.
Weinkle’s new 4 song EP Empire continues the journey first travelled on the 2001 release Dreamhome. Never far from his roots in psychedelia, British invasion and New York noise, Weinkle, who wrote and performed much of Empire, downshifts from the incessant power of rock holding it in reserve, and then unleashing it to knock the cobwebs from our somnambulist trance..
A live version of Velvet Sun was formed after an invitation to the 1999 Independent Music Festival based on the release of Dreamhome. For Empire, contributors were Eric Gould on keyboards and Marcel Salas on bass.
“Wait is a great song with a fantastic groove; it drives on a robust beat, some gorgeously underplayed vocals from Scott Weinkle and one of those riffs that seem to be doing nothing and yet add everything at the same time. Wrap this in sensational synthy sonics that give it a smooth edge and sophisticated sheen, and you have it all. It is fair to say that Velvet Sun knows precisely what they are doing.” – The Big Takeover
“Velvet Sun paints a dreamlike rebellion with new EP Empire” – Earmilk
“Wait features jangly guitars atop a contagious rhythm. The feel of the song is quixotic, while the flow presents aspects of dream-pop allied with SoCal folk-rock. The roll and sway of the layered harmonics are wonderfully mesmerizing.” – Ink 19
“A dark and delectably moody rock success from Velvet Sun, Empire immerses with a gripping post-punk pulse and array of melodic guitar/synth interplay.” – Obscure Sound
“Velvet Sun’s Empire highlights their ability to merge beauty with intensity, further solidifying their distinct place in indie rock.” – Tunes Around

Timothy LaRoque is a 24-year old singer-songwriter from Hollywood, Florida (born and raised). Being raised on the classics (The Beatles, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens are some of his favorites) yet growing up in an evolving world with a wide range of taste, he’s come up in the South Florida scene as a leader, specifically in his groups The Summit and (more recently) The Def Cats. Having played all over Florida and surrounding states, he always brings an undeniable, spiritual energy to his live performances.

ROD MacDONALD
Rod MacDonald (born August 17, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter, novelist, and educator.[1] He was a “big part of the 1980s folk revival in Greenwich Village clubs”,[2] performing at the Speakeasy, The Bottom Line, Folk City, and the “Songwriter’s Exchange” at the Cornelia Street Cafe. He co-founded the Greenwich Village Folk Festival. He is perhaps best known for his songs “American Jerusalem“, about the “contrast between the rich and the poor in Manhattan” (Sing Out!), “A Sailor’s Prayer”, “Coming of the Snow”, “Every Living Thing”, and “My Neighbors in Delray”, a description of the September 11 hijackers’ last days in Delray Beach, Florida, where MacDonald has lived since 1995. His songs have been covered by Dave Van Ronk, Shawn Colvin, Four Bitchin’ Babes, Jonathan Edwards, Garnet Rogers, Joe Jencks, and others. His 1985 recording “White Buffalo” is dedicated to Lakota Sioux ceremonial chief and healer Frank Fools Crow, whom he visited in 1981 and 1985, and who appears with MacDonald in the cover photograph. Since 1995 MacDonald has lived in south Florida, where his cd, “Later that Night” was named “Best Local Cd of 2014” by The Palm Beach Post [3] and reached the top ten in national roots music charts. His first novel, The Open Mike, about a young man in the open mike scene of Greenwich Village, was published on December 5, 2014, by Archway Publishing.[4] On May 1, 2018, MacDonald released his 13th solo recording, “Beginning Again,” on Blue Flute Music.[5]

VIOLETTA DE LA GUARDIA
Drawing from an eclectic musical background in rock, folk, country, and flamenco, Miami musician and songwriter Violeta de la Guardia has been dynamically engaging South Florida’s music scene since 2015. Violeta is a singer and multi-instrumentalist, with a natural ability to play guitar, bass, keys, and drums. Her solo work blends elements of rock and folk guitar arrangements with emotively-sung poetry drenched in nostalgia, romance, and poignance.
Currently she is in the process of recording an EP of songs that stem from her abstract, existential poetry, while the sound is rooted in rock and folk. She is also a visual artist, with a proclivity toward fast, yet detailed pen drawings that are to be featured on her album art as well as her merchandise. As of late, she has been gigging up and down the Florida coast, with shows from Vero Beach down to the Florida Keys and also performs with post-punk band Donzii and Beach Blues band The Apostoli Floyd Experience.

JOHN IS RETURNING TO THE LUNA STAR STAGE FOR A SPECIAL NIGHT WITH FRIENDS AND A SURPRISE GUEST!
A fixture on the South Florida music and poetry scene for years, John Camacho brings his friends together for a farewell concert at one of the best venues to hear music anywhere, The Luna Star Cafe. His resume as poet and musician is considerable. Beginning with local heroes The Goods–the band he formed and co-fronted with his brother, Jim–through early 00s idiosyncratic human juke box cult faves, Mongo, to his current Christian band, Messiah Has Come, John has been writing and performing (with high-energy virtuosity), poetic and powerful pop rock songs with sometimes poignant, sometimes comical lyrics for the better part of two decades. He’s an award-winning poet whose work is published in literary magazines throughout the U.S. and Europe. A long-time paladin of our verse and music scene, John is saying goodbye to South Florida, and he’s asked some special friends to help him say sayonara in style. Don’t miss this very special night!

Since his 1966 mega-hit “Elusive Butterfly” helped revolutionize American music, Bob’s artistry has continued to improve and evolve. Today, 50-plus years into his impressive career, his songs have been covered by more than 200 quality artists. He’s writing and singing better than ever. And he’s playing his fantastic music all over the United States and Europe.
“Come and see why this engaging poet / guitarist / philosopher / singer / wise-ass has endured in the sometimes-cruel and always-fickle music business for [five decades]. But be prepared to feel emotions you may not have let yourself feel in a while – feelings that may scare you a little. His songs hit the heart like a wrecking ball!”

Scottish guitarist and singer Ali Tod blends modern percussive fingerstyle guitar techniques with classical training and loop-pedal mastery, to create a live acoustic experience that gets hands clapping, hips shaking and feet stomping. If Rodrigo y Gabriela and KT Tunstall combined to make a one-woman show, it would be Ali Tod.
Growing up in Edinburgh, Scotland, Ali was the founder of the Edinburgh Guitar Night, a series of live concerts in Scotland’s capital city, showcasing some of the best guitarists from around the world.
Ali has performed with her idols, GRAMMY award-winning musicians Rodrigo y Gabriela, after the Mexican guitar duo discovered her covers of their songs on social media. She since went on to perform alongside Gabriela at the winter NAMM 2020 event and performed with world-renowned bass player Nathan East, GRAMMY award winning musician Daniel Ho and thrash-metal legend and Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick. Ali has also played alongside Gabriela at several benefit concerts in Mexico.
In January 2020, Ali performed as part of the Women of Fingerstyle Guitar event run by Fretmonkey Records, alongside legendary female guitarists such as Kaki King, Vicki Genfan, Muriel Anderson and Christie Lenée.
In October 2021, Ali supported world-renowned fingerstyle guitarist and winner of ‘World’s Best Acoustic Guitarist 2020’ Jon Gomm on the Scottish date of his UK tour.
Ali has performed at the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival, Ards International Guitar Festival, Belfast Guitar Festival, London Guitar Night, Manchester Guitar Night, Edinburgh Guitar and Music Festival, Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Aberdeen Jazz Festival.

Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band
With vocals, guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and bass fiddle, Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band connect people with music that is woven into the fabric of the United States. Carrying on the tradition of old-time, pre-bluegrass string bands and songsters, they raise the roof with traditional folk songs, fiddle tunes, old-time country, bluegrass, Appalachian music, ragtime, blues, spirituals, railroad and cowboy songs, work songs, sea shanties, reels, breakdowns, ballads, and more.
Raised on a variety of rock and pop music forms from the second half of the twentieth century, the band members followed the influences of their musical heroes back in time to unearth a treasure trove of American roots music. They perform and record these songs with respect for their essence and place in history while imbuing them with a vitality and intensity that betrays their rock and roll upbringing.
Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band features Matthew on vocals, guitar, banjo, and mountain dulcimer; Jack Stamates on fiddle; Chris DeAngelis on bass fiddle and vocals; and Sean Edelson on mandolin, guitar, and vocals.
