On Thursday April 23rd, Tennessee-based Americana (folk/blues/bluegrass/country) singer/songwriter Kurt Fortmeyer will be making his return to the Luna Star Cafe.
Expect good stories, bad jokes, and great songs. Kurt has spent the last 20+ years performing at the world-famous Bluebird Cafe, and other Nashville songwriter venues. For the past two years, he has been a featured performer at Nashville’s yearly New Year’s Day Townes Van Zandt tribute show. His song “Pelicans” was one of the winners of the Best New Florida Song contest at the 2024 Will McLean Music Festival in Brooksville, Florida. Kurt’s song “First Name Basis (With The Blues) has been chosen as a finalist in the 2026 Rocky Mountain Songwriting Contest held in conjunction with the Red Lodge Songwriters Festival. He will be traveling to Montana in June, to perform it live for the judges. This is a must-see show for fans of Guy Clark, Robert Earl Keen, Tom Russell, and Kris Kristofferson.
