ALAN RHODY

Alan Rhody just released his tenth album, “Farther On” in April of this year. The new collection
is up close and personal with Rhody in his home studio, playing all the instruments and singing
all the vocals.  Showcasing new material, such as “Just Like Them,” a co-write with the late
Guy Clark, or “Sinking Ships And Rainy Afternoons” a semi-abstract and spacious finger-picking
picture of loss, the new disc also includes an emotionally moving version of one of Mickey Newbury’s
hidden treasures, “Wish I Was.”
In a career that now spans forty years, Alan Rhody still loves performing and is still being “discovered”
by audiences all over North America (such as the South Florida Folk Festival this past January).  He has
played main stages at many others such as Kerrville and The Florida Folk Festival and covers endless
miles of listening rooms, house concerts and smaller halls each year.  His original songs have been
recorded by many other artists in folk, bluegrass and country and include: Del McCoury, Kevin Welch,
David Mallett, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Lorrie Morgan, The Oak Ridge Boys, Toby Keith, Tanya Tucker
and Michael Martin Murphey.
